all nighters

did the most trying to study for my exam this morning for earth science— I was crazy nervous that I did not understand the material enough to do well on the test so I stayed up until about 4AM doing the 126 question study guide lol.

and now i’m exhausted!! well not yet but I know it’s coming. I woke up at 7:02 (really 6:30 but I needed some more time) because my class is at 8 and on the opposite side of town from where I’m at. didn’t eat anything so I’m famished sitting in this cafe rn waiting for my tacos. just chugged about 6oz of straight cold brew and ran out the house. my dad insisted on arguing with me a little bit about how green tea would have enough caffeine to help me stay awake, which I did not have time for. I finished the test in about 15 minutes, which rocks. not because I was rushing but because everything came to me pretty quick. I’m a really good test taker, I always have been. so this was no shock to my system, it was only natural I would excel. but I was worried that I was going too fast. it’s understandable to go that fast if you have an open note test, but this was straight memorizing. but I think I’m good and everything will work out well, though I could not remember if spiral galaxies are new or old — aaaaaaand they’re new. so that’s at least one question wrong.

now that I’m older I understand why they hammered testing skills into us so hard throughout elementary school, and they really hammered it in, probably so our CST scores were high. but it’s so valuable, and I think it’s something we should be hammering into our kids at my job, but I have the babies and they don’t have tests so.

everything I do ties back to my kids. it reaffirms my purpose in life: to help children. I believe everyone’s purpose in life boils down to wanting to help others, it’s human nature. but I think I specifically want to help and care for kids. I always have; when I was into interior design I wanted to design schools, when I wanted to go into publishing it was for children’s literature, and obviously my current want to be a teacher. kids are just so important.

anyway there’s my stream of thought! byeee
